Keys to the Game |
Key sequence |
The Crimson put together a 12-2 run to close within six points on a Drew Housman three with just over six minutes to play. However, Jaytornah Wisseh’s layup stopped the bleeding for the hosts, and when Housman misfired on another three-point attempt, Kyle Johnson showed him how it was done with a long-range bomb at the other end. Jeremy Lin’s three-pointer made it an eight-point game, but Johnson again struck from the outside, then Allen got a lay-up a minute later. Harvard would get no closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Key sign it was over |
Harvard had a glimmer of hope after a Line three-pointer made it 82-72 with 64 seconds remaining, but Tyrone Mattison hit both free throws, and after a Dan McGeary miss from the outside, David Hicks added two more free throws to make it 86-72 with just 45 ticks left. Lin sandwiched a three and a layup around a Wisseh free throw, but a Mattison free throw with 23 seconds on the clock would be the final scoring on the night.

Notes
– Pat Magnarelli was a bright spot for Harvard with a career-high 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Lin finished with 17 and McGeary tallied 12 off the bench on 4-for-10 shooting — all from three.
– Wisseh had a strong floor game with 11 assists to go with his 13 points, making him one of five LIU players in double figures scoring-wise. Eugene Kotorobai also had a big game with 17 points and eight rebounds.
– Harvard took a whopping 30 three-point attempts on the evening, hitting 12 of them for solid 40.0-percent shooting from deep.
– After playing in the previous four contests after coming back from a preseason stress fracture in his leg, senior captain Bran Unger did see action.
– The Crimson has dropped three straight on the road since its upset of Michigan, so it will be looking forward to its next game on Sunday, December 16, when Vermont visits Lavietes Pavilion for a 2:00 pm ET contest.
