Wednesday night’s lone Ivy action features a pair of struggling squads desperately in search of a win. Both Princeton and Evansville have had a rough time of it so far this season, as evidenced by their combined 3-9 record. The Purple Aces enter the game with just one win on the season, and that came over winless Ball State on November 24, while the Tigers haven’t tasted victory in almost a month.

Possessions should be at a premium in this game, as Evansville ranks 333rd nationally with 59.8 possessions per 40 minutes, and Princeton is 328th at 60.5. The Tigers have been struggling with their outside shooting, so they must be licking their chops over the prospect of facing a team that allows 38.5-percent shooting from outside the arc this season. The Purple Aces also allow a lot of shots from the perimeter, with over 40 percent of opponents attempts coming from three, so there could be a lot of open looks for the visitors. Princeton has done a better job of keeping opponents off the line this season under Sydney Johnson, and it probably will need to continue doing so tonight to leave Indiana with the win.
Stat to watch: Princeton’s three-point shooting.
Pomeroy says: Princeton 54, Evansville 52
