Keys to the Game |
Key sequence |
After seeing its lead trimmed to eight on a Mark Porter three-pointer with 8:34 remaining in the contest, Columbia responded with eight unanswered points to re-build a comfortable lead. Justin Armstrong’s layup restored the double-digit buffer, then after a Joey Mundweiler miss, John Baumann stuck a jumper to make it 66-54. Following a string of fruitless possessions for both sides, Baumann hit a free throw, then grabbed a defensive board and sank a three-pointer to give the Lions a commanding 70-54 lead with under five minutes left.

Key sign it was over |
Porter’s three-pointer cut the Columbia lead to 12 with 1:13 remaining, but Mack Montgomery was perfect on two free throws, then Brett Loscalzo came up with a steal with 47 ticks left. The Lions ran the clock under 30 seconds, to make victory inevitable.
