The official scorer could be busy tonight at Newman Arena, as neither team has shown the ability to play much defense this season. That’s music to the ears of a Cornell squad that has delighted in outscoring opponents so far. They’ll be facing a Binghamton team that is allowing 37.5-percent three-point shooting on the season. The Big Red’s biggest defensive shortcoming this season has been an inability to force turnovers, and that’s not likely to change too much against the Bearcats, who average turnovers on a respectable 21.1 percent of their possessions. Cornell has won back-to-back games at home, while Binghamton has dropped three straight going into tonight’s meeting.
Stat to watch: Three-point shooting
Vermont (2-3) at Dartmouth (2-3) – 7:00 pm ET

The Big Green will be looking to buck the recent trend in this series, as the Catamounts have won seven straight against their closest geographical Division I opponent. Also at stake: someone is going to raise its record to .500 on the season. Vermont started the season with three straight defeats, albeit at the hands of good George Mason, Virginia, and Loyola (MD) programs. The Catamounts take a two-game winning streak into the game, coming off a good home win over Towson. Meanwhile, Dartmouth has played well its last two times out and is coming off a big win as well. Both teams foul a lot defensively, but Vermont thus far has shot free throws far better.
Stat to watch: Free throws
