Cornell was clinging to a 60-57 lead after Army’s Kenny Brewer converted a conventional three-point play with 10:54 to play. However, the Big Red would begin a parade to the free throw line, while clamping down defensive on the Black Knights. Two Louis Dale free throws got the run started, and Collin Robinson drilled a three-pointer the next trip down. Jarell Brown could get just one of two from the stripe, then Brian Kreefer drained a pair of free throws. Andre Wilkins had 2-for-2 trips to the line on both of the next two Big Red possessions, as Cornell opened up a 13-point lead with under eight minutes to play, thanks to an 11-1 run.

Brown got Army back to within 12 points on two occasions in the final four minutes, but each time Cornell responded with a layup. When Robinson found Kreefer for a lay-in at the 1:09 mark, the Big Red had stretched its lead out to 90-75 and the victory was in hand.

Kreefer seems to enjoy playing against Army, as his team-high 21 points were just two shy of his career best, set last season against these same Black Knights. The junior forward finished the night 8 of 10 from the field and gragged two rebounds to go with three assists and two steals in 25 minutes off the bench.

– Five Cornell players reached double figures, including another bench player in Robinson (16 points).
– Army was led by Brown’s game-high 30 points on 9-for-14 shooting (5 of 7 from three).
– The Big Red continues to knock down its three-pointers at an excellent clip, draining 10 of 23 (43.5 percent) as a team on the night.
– After giving up 59 points in each of its first two second halves of the season, Cornell surrendered 41 to Army.
– The game featured a combined 44 turnovers between the two teams, with Army accounting for 23 of those and Cornell not much better at 21.
