Key sequence Cornell held a 68-60 lead with 14:05 left, but Ohio put together a big 19-3 run to reverse the margin. Leon Williams got things started for the Bobcats with a three-point play, then Bubba Walther exploded for seven points in 38 seconds. Another three-point play for Williams put Ohio in the lead, then the forward got loose inside for a layup. Following an Alex Tyler free throw, Williams put back a Jerome Tillman miss, then Justin Orr came up with a steal and converted a pair of free throws to give the hosts a 79-71 advantage.
Key sign it was over The Big Red trailed by 10 with 1:17 left after a Tyler free throw. Orr could get only one of two at the line for Ohio, and Ryan Wittman got two shots at cutting into the deficit, but neither would fall. Following a willings free throw, Wittman again misfired on a jumper, and Walther was perfect on both attempts from the line to make it 101-87 with just 42 ticks left.
Key performance Williams proved to be an stoppable force down low for the Bobcats, finishing with game highs in points (28) and rebounds (15). The Ohio forward shot 10 of 14 on the evening and also dished out three assists in 33 minutes.
Key statistic The Bobcats doubled up the Big Red in the turnover department, forcing Cornell into 17 turnovers, compared to just eight for the hosts. Ohio outscored its guests 23-9 in points off turnovers.
Notes

– Six Big Red players — including all five starters — scored in double figures. Jason Hartford had a team-high 18 points, while Wittman finished with 17.

– Louis Dale had a strong floor game with nine assists against just two turnovers.

– Cornell was pounded on the boards, as the Bobcats rebounded at 39.5 percent offensively, compared to 29.4 percent for the Big Red. Ohio owned a big 25-9 edge in second-chance points.

– Cornell was able to stay in the game due to 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) shooting from three-point range. However, inside was another story, as Ohio had a 42-28 advantage in the paint.

– The Bobcats made more free throws (21) than the Big Red attempted (20).

– Cornell surrendered 59 second-half points for the second straight game.

– Cornell will look to get back on track at home against Army on Tuesday, November 20, at 7:00 pm ET.
