Princeton adds Illinois PF Comfort to 2008 class

According to a November 13 article in the Riverside/Brookfield Landmark, John Comfort of Oak Park, IL, has committed to Princeton. The 6-6 power forward plays for Fenwick High School, and according to his coach, he has grown taller and added muscle over the summer. There’s no word on the others schools involved or any other offers he might have received. Comfort is the fifth public commitment for Sydney Johnson, joining point guard Max Huc, wing Chris O’Brien, forward Patrick Saunders, and power forward Zane Ma.

Slant: Comfort’s high school coach describes him as “a force in the middle” with a “well-rounded game.” At 6-6, he is a bit undersized to play at the four, but if he continues growing as he did this past year, that may not be an issue. Comfort probably won’t be the final piece of Johnson’s 2008 recruiting puzzle, as most Ivy head coaches end up bringing in big classes in their first year on the job.
