Keys to the Game
Key sequence Marcus Schroeder got a layup, foul, and, free throw to draw Princeton within four at the 5:25 mark, only to see Damon Huffman dish off to Scott Friske for a layup and a 55-49 Brown lead. Zach Finley banked one in from short range, before Huffman dribbled the ball off his leg driving to the hoop, giving it back to the Tigers. Noah Savage moved across the lane and hit a right-handed mini-hook to make it a two-point game with 3:45 left. Friske converted his first free throw, but couldn’t get the second, however, Schroeder missed two free throws. Mark McAndrew made an incredible spinning, backward, overhead, two-handed pass to Friske for a layup to make it a five-point game. Savage made it a one-possession game with a pair of free throws with 2:29 left. Finley swatted away McAndrew’s shot, but the Princeton freshman was whistled for traveling at the offensive end. The Bears ran clock before Huffman put a dagger in Princeton with an NBA-range three-pointer from the top of the key, putting Brown up six with 1:13 showing on the clock.
Key sign it was over With his team trailing by six, Kyle Koncz attempted a three from the left corner, but it clanged off the rim and Brown grabbed the board, quickly calling a timeout with 45 seconds remaining. Princeton tried trapping on the inbounds, but the Bears got the ball down to Friske, who was fouled. The sophomore forward hit one of two, and Savage’s three-point attempt rimmed out. Huffman was fouled with 24.9 seconds to go, hitting two free throws to make it 64-55.
Key performance Huffman led all scorers with 21 points on 5-for-8 shooting — with all eight attempts coming from three. He added three rebounds, three assists, and a block in 38 minutes.

– Schroeder added a career-high 13 points for the Tigers while playing all 40 minutes.

– Princeton had only three more turnovers (15) than Brown (12), but the Bears outscored the Tigers 22-8 in points off turnovers.

– After getting pounded on the boards in the earlier meeting, Princeton grabbed 9 of 25 (36.0 percent) rebounds at its offensive end, compared to just 15.8 percent for Brown. The Tigers held a 11-2 advantage in second-chance points.

– Brown will look to stay hot when it travels to Philadelphia to face Ivy champion Penn (20-8, 11-1 Ivy) on Saturday, March 3 at 7:00 pm, in a game televised on the YES Network. Princeton looks to snap its losing streak against Yale (13-13, 9-4 Ivy) at 7:30 pm ET.
