Brown to hire Craig Robinson

After a seven-week search, multiple sources have confirmed Brown is set to announce the hiring of Northwestern assistant Craig Robinson as its next men’s basketball coach. The decision will be made official at a press conference in Providence at 9:00 am on Thursday morning. A 1983 Princeton graduate, Robinson ranks fourth on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,441 points during a career that saw him win a pair of Ivy League Player of the Year awards.

Penn taps Brown’s Miller to replace Dunphy

Sources close to both Penn and Brown coach Glen Miller indicate Penn athletic director Steve Bilsky is set to name Miller the next men’s basketball coach at Penn. A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, at which time Miller will be introduced. The decision comes after two-plus weeks of searching and interviewing candidates to succeed Fran Dunphy, who departed for Temple back on April 10. Miller was rumored to be Bilsky’s choice early on in the search, but Lehigh’s Billy Taylor had been considered the favorite up until Monday and Cornell’s Steve Donahue also was reported to be in the mix. Miller comes to Penn with a 93-99 overall record in seven seasons at Brown — 54-44 in the league.
