Week 4 – Lin Ivy League POW; Peck League’s ROW

Harvard senior guard Jeremy Lin won his second Player of the Week honor as bestowed by the Ivy League office. Lin had 14 points and eight rebounds in an 85-64 win over Rice earlier in the week and added 30 points and nine rebounds in a 79-73 loss to then-No. 13 UConn yesterday.

It is Lin’s second Ivy League Player of the Week distinction this season, and the first unshared title given out by the Ivies this year. Lin joins fellow early-season Player of the Year candidates Noruwa Agho and Ryan Wittman with two Player of the Week honors. The only other player to be named Ivy Player of the Week was Brown’s Matt Mullery.

Cornell’s Errick Peck was awarded the league’s rookie of the week honor as he posted 13 points and three rebounds in the Big Red’s overtime victory over Bucknell. Peck joins Brown’s Matt Sullivan and Andrew McCarthy and Harvard’s Dee Giger as rookie of the week honorees this season.

Both Cornell’s Ryan Wittman and Princeton’s Douglas Davis got honor roll mentions after averaging over 20 points in two contests this past week.
