Brown faces Ohio on CBI Opening Round

Brown will get a taste of postseason play when it heads to Ohio to take on the Bobcats in the Opening Round of the inaugural College Basketball Invitational. The Bears will have their hands full against an Ohio team that handled Cornell in Athens earlier this season.

Ohio earned itself some early press with some impressive play in November and early December — a period that included a 102-89 home win over Cornell on November 17. Since then, the Bobcats have come back to earth a bit, primarily due to some very poor defensive games when opponents hit a very high percentage of their shots. Both teams like to shoot the three, though Brown was much more proficient this season (40.2 percent, as compared to 34.6 percent for the hosts). The two sides also rely heavily on getting to the free throw line, with Brown ranking second in the nation in free throw rate and Ohio not far behind at 53rd. Leon Williams is a beast inside for the Bobcats, averaging 16.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, so the Bears will have to find a way to limit the damage he can cause on the interior.
