Keys to the Game |
Key sequence |
Yale trailed 27-19 late in the first half, and had three chances to cut into its deficit, but turned it over on three straight possessions. Eventually, Corey Lowe’s layup made it a double-digit game and 90 seconds later, Lowe struck from three-point range. An Eric Flato offensive foul became the Bulldogs’ fifth turnover in six possessions, and at the other end, John Holland connected from outside the arc to finish off a quick 8-0 run for BU that made it 35-19 in the Terrier’s favor. Yale would get no closer than eight points again.

Key sign it was over |
Caleb Holmes’s three-pointer made it a nine-point game with 5:22 to play, but Lowe responded with a jumper. Following a Yale turnvoer, Carlos Strong drew a foul and hit both free throws, then Holland came up with a steal and Lowe dunked to make it 71-56 with 4:11 remaining. The Bulldogs eventually got back within 12, will under two minutes left, but three-pointers by Nick Holmes and Alex Zampier wouldn’t fall, and by the time Yale cut its deficit to single digits, only 22 seconds remained.

Key performance |
Lowe put on a shooting display for BU with a career-high 35 points on 13-for-20 shooting — including 7 of 13 from three-point territory. The Terrier guard did commit six turnovers, but also pulled down three boards and recorded two assists in 35 minutes.
