Key sequence UC Davis ran off eight unanswered points to cut an 11-point Brown lead to just three with 5:24 left. However, Chri Skrelja drew a foul and got both free throws. The Aggies got two looks from outside the three-point arc on their next possession, but couldn’t hit either one. Skrelja missed a layup, but Ryan Silva turned it back over to the Bears. Skrelja again missed twice from close range before finally getting a lay-in to go. Following a UC Davis miss, Mark McAndrew got two points at the line, then added another free throw on the next possession to restore Brown’s lead to double digits at 67-57 with 2:08 left.
Key sign it was over The Aggies scored their final points of the contest at the 5:24 mark, as Brown ended the game on a 13-o run. When Silva misfired from three and Skrelja hit two free throws, the Bears led 69-57 with 86 seconds remaining. After a missed UC Davis layup, Matt Mullery got a lay-in at the other end ot make it a 14-point game with 49 seconds left, and the competitive portion of the game was over.
Key performance McAndrew scored a game-high 18 points, mostly on the strength of 10-for-12 shooting at the free throw line. The senior guard also added six rebounds.
Key statistic Brown doubled up UC Davis at the free throw line, hitting 29 of 34 (85.3 percent) from the stripe compared to 14 of 17 (82.4 percent) for the visitors.
Notes

– Skrelja and Damon Huffman each added 15 for Brown, while Silva led UC Davis with 13 points.

– The Aggies shot just 11 of 35 (31.4 percent) inside the arc, while the Bears fared much better at 16 of 26 (61.5 percent). Brown had a 28-14 edge in points in the paint.

– The Bears lost the turnover battle 19-13, but actually managed to outscore the Aggies 17-16 in points off turnovers.

– Brown scored 58 seconds into the contest and never trailed on the afternoon.

– The Bears travel down Interstate 95 to take on Quinnipiac on Monday, December 3, at 7:00 pm ET.
