Keys to the Game |
Key sequence |
Trailing by nine with under seven minutes to play, Lincoln Gunn responded with a three of his own. Following a turnover at the other end, Gunn fed Zach Finley for a layup. A Hayden Heiber jumpshot pushed the margin back to six, but Gunn got inside for a bucket, and after Finley blocked Rodrick Johnson’s layup attempt, the Tiger sophomore scored inside to make it 58-56. However, Princeton left Johnson wide open underneath for a dunk, and following a missed jumper by Gunn, Kussler scored on a post move to put the Tigers in a six-point deficit. When Finley couldn’t get his shot to fall, Johnson’s layup make it 64-56 with 2:12 remaining.

Key sign it was over |
A Noah Savage three-pointer cut the Chaminade lead to three-points, but Heiber hit both free throws. Savage couldn’t find the range on another three, but Gunn grabbed the offensive board and stuck a three-pointer with 12 seconds left to make it a one-possession game. Again, Heiber was perfect at the line, so Finley’s layup only brought the Tigers within two with three ticks left. LaMarr Hunt was fouled with one second on the clock, and hit both free throws to ice the game.

Key statistic |
