Key sequence After two Brian Grandieri free throws brought Penn to within 62-57 with 4:51 left in the game, Howard launched a 13-3 run over the next 3:24 to push its lead to 75-60 with 1:27 to play.
Key sign it was over After a conventional three-point play by Jack Eggleston cut Howard’s lead to 71-60 with 2:04 left, Howard’s Eugene Myatt hit a jumper on Harvard’s next possession, then followed a missed Grandieri three-point attempt with a layup to give the Bison a 15-point advantage.
Key performance Myatt, a Philadelphia native, made a triumphant return to his hometown with 36 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field, including a perfect 5-of-5 from three-point range.
Key statistic The Bison shot 57.1 percent from the field on the night (28-of-49), and made 12 of their 22 three-point attempts.
Notes

– Grandieri once again led the Quakers in scoring with 17 points. He was the only Penn player in double figures, and also pulled down seven rebounds.

– Penn shot 44.4 percent from the field on the night, but made only four of 14 three-point shots and 13 of 23 (56.5 percent) free throws.

– The Quakers struggled on the offensive boards, rebounding at 29.7 percent at their offensive end, but held the Bison to just 17.9-percent offensive rebounding.

– Glen Miller changed four players from his starting lineup against Loyola a week ago. Brian Grandieri kept his place, but Harrison Gaines, Tyler Bernardini, Justin Reilly and Andreas Schreiber replaced Aron Cohen, Michael Kach, Jack Eggleston and Cameron Lewis.

– Penn will return to action on Tuesday, when it hosts The Citadel at 8:00 pm ET at The Palestra.
