Princeton commitment Peterson re-opens recruiting

According to Scout.com (subscription required), Jeff Peterson has rescinded his commitment to Princeton and re-opened his recruiting. The DeMatha point guard had committed to the Tigers back in October over primarily Ivy and Patriot League interest. The move leaves wing Jason Liberman and forward Kareem Maddox as the two confirmed members of Joe Scott’s 2007 recruiting class.

Slant: There’s no word on who else Peterson might be considering now, but assuming he’s an early decision admit to Princeton, that could affect his list — especially among high-academic schools that honor early decision commitments elsewhere. It’s very possible that after being injured and unable to participate in the AAU circuit and camps over the summer, Peterson has attracted the attention of major programs with his play thus far this season, and wants to see if something bigger comes his way. In that respect, he could very well end up re-committing to Princeton in the end, should he be unhappy with his other options.
