Key sequence Trailing 55-40 with just over five minutes remaining, Dartmouth came alive with back-to-back three-pointers from DeVon Mosley and Leon Pattman. After a UNH triple, Alex Barnett hit a jumpshot and Mosley hit two more threes to cap a 14-3 blitz that saw Dartmouth go 4-for-4 from outside the arc and make five consecutive shots. The torrid stretch brought the Big Green to within 58-54 with 1:46 left.
Key sign it was over Jermaine Anderson nailed two free throws with 16.3 seconds left to give UNH a 63-58 lead, only to see Pattman hoist up an off-balance three from the right foul line extended to get the Big Green within 63-61 with eight seconds to play. Fouled immediately, Anderson (an 83-percent free throw shooter) made both of his attempts to make it a two-possession game, 65-61, with five seconds left.
Key performance Anderson singlehandedly held off Dartmouth’s late charge, scoring the final 10 points of the evening for New Hampshire. The guard hit a big three-pointer with 3:57 remaining and went 7-for-7 from the foul line in the final 36 seconds, finishing the night with a game-high 21 points to go with six assists and four rebounds.
Key statistic After hitting its first four shots of the second half to go up by 21 points, UNH was shooting 20 of 28 (71.4 percent) on the night. The Wildcats were 4-for-16 from the field the rest of the way, but still finished 24 of 44 (54.5 percent) from the field. Dartmouth’s late surge boosted its final shooting numbers to 25 of 59 (42.4 percent).
Notes

– Barnett registered 16 points, 12 rebounds, two enormous blocks, one crowd-pleasing putback dunk and some terrific help defense on the UNH center down the stretch as he registered his third double-double in as many games. Pattman led Dartmouth with 18 points.

– Mosley had 13 points (3-for-7 from long range), three assists and no turnovers..

– After being torched in the first half, Dartmouth limited New Hampshire to 40.0-percent shooting in the second half and just one three-pointer.

– UNH surpassed the 29 points it had in a loss to Boston University the last time out on a 3-pointer with 7:22 left in the first half.

– Dartmouth’s comeback came with no post player on the court and 6-4 John Ball guarding the 6-8 UNH centers.

– The Big Green recorded just nine assists on 25 baskets.
