Keys to the Game |
Key sequence |
UC Irvine broke open a tied game with an early string of 16 unanswered points. After Jim Goffredo had tied the game at 7-7 with a three-pointer, Nic Campbell answered with a three of his own. Goffredo couldn’t make it two in a row, and Mark Kelley hit a jumper. Following a James Lambert turnover, Campbell struck again from the outside. The Crimson got two chances on its next possession, but couldn’t score on either one. Harvard got a stop, but committed a turnover. Chad DeCasas hauled in rebounds of two of his own misses before recording a conventional three-point play. Following a Goffredo turnover, Patrick Sanders sank a jumper. Housman misfired, then Adam Templeton hit a three to cap off the 16-0 run that put UC Irvine up 23-7.
