NJHoops.com reports guard Porter Braswell has announced his intention to attend Yale next season. The 6-0 point guard was named Third Team All-Prep by the Newark Star-Ledger this past spring after averaging 17.5 points per game as a junior at Lawrenceville Prep. Last week Braswell had announced a short list consisting of Yale and Penn.
Slant: Braswell’s final decision between Yale and Penn effectively was made for him when Penn got its point guard in Harrison Gaines. Like Gaines, Braswell is regarded as an athletic scoring point guard. It’s good timing for James Jones to bring in his next point guard, as Braswell will have a year to back up Eric Flato before battling for the starting job.
