Scout.com confirms that guard Niko Scott has re-committed to Columbia. The Queens native originally committed to Joe Jones’s program out of Christ the King High School last season, but failed to gain admission. He re-opened his recruitment and enrolled at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire for a postgraduate year. The 6-2 shooting guard chose Columbia over a scholarship offer from Richmond of the Atlantic 10. Scouting reports from those who have seen Scott say he is an excellent lefthanded shooter with solid fundamentals. He anchors a guard-heavy recruiting class for the Lions and projects as one of the better recruits in the Ivy League’s Class of 2006.
