Keys to the Game |
Key sequence |
After Keenan Jeppesen drilled a three-pointer to cut Cornell’s lead to two with 21 seconds left, Brown fouled Adam Gore. The freshman converted both free throws to make it a four-point game with 19 seconds remaining. Brown then got four shots in the final 11 seconds, but couldn’t hit any of them and the Big Red escaped with the 63-59 win. |
Key sign it was over |
Damon Huffman grabbed the rebound of Jeppesen’s missed three-pointer, but couldn’t knock down a jumper with seven seconds to go. While Brown would go on to get two more shots in the final three seconds, at that point — down by two possessions inside of five seconds — it was pretty much over. |
Key performance |
Graham Dow. The Cornell point guard scored 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting and tallied three rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 31 minutes. Dow was all over the court when Cornell made its runs early in the both halves. |
Key statistic |
Cornell’s 20-7 edge in points off turnovers. The Big Red forced the Bears into 17 turnovers while committing just 10 themselves. Cornell came up with 10 steals, as three Brown starters finished with four or more turnovers. |
