Gamecenter: Yale 49, Princeton 66

Key sequence: Princeton’s 11 points in 90 seconds. After hitting a three-pointer to tie the game at 40 on the previous possession, Mike Strittmatter connected from distance for a second straight possession. On the play the officials whistled Yale’s Matt Kyle for a foul off the ball. Luke Owings drained both free throws to give the Tigers a sudden five-point lead, then hit a three-pointer of his own on the next trip to stretch the Princeton lead to eight at 48-40 with 8:31 left.

Live blogging Friday night

I don’t get too many chances to be at home on a Friday night of an Ivy weekend, so I’m going to try something new tonight: running a live blog of the evening’s action in the Mid-Atlantic region. Through the magic of Internet audio (and video!), gametrackers, and chat rooms, I’ll be keeping tabs on all four games.

Friday night undercard bouts

The weekend is set up strangely. There are two games between upper-division teams, and both take place on Saturday night. With four “interdivisional” games on tap, tonight’s fight card definitely reads like a warm-up for Saturday’s big games. The four upper-division teams are all favored tonight — even Harvard and Yale on the road — so the bottom half has its work cut out for it.
