Familiar script for Yale

If it weren’t for the fact this was the fourth season in a row Yale has done this, last night’s score at Jadwin Gym would have been shocking. Now the weight of being the league’s best hope to unseat Penn reverts to Harvard. But with the Crimson just a two-point favorite tonight at Cornell, the title chase could be short-lived once again this season.

Gamecenter: Harvard 69, Columbia 59

Key sequence: The first ten minutes of the second half were nip and tuck, with neither team leading by more than two. With the game tied at 49, each team missed a three-pointer on three straight possessions. But after Harvard’s third miss, Brian Cusworth grabbed the rebound and put it back in to give the Crimson a two-point lead. After Matt Stehle came up with a steal at the other end, Zach Martin ended the string of missed threes with a big shot from the arc that put Harvard up five. Columbia would get no closer than three points the rest of the way.

Gamecenter: Dartmouth 47, Cornell 63

Key sequence: Trailing 15-5, Dartmouth held Cornell to just two points over a five-minute period, but the Big Green shot just 2 of 8 during this span and only made up two points. Adam Gore nailed a three-pointer to put the Big Red up 20-9, then after two DeVon Mosley free throws, Cornell took advantage of a second chance from an offensive rebound when Lenny Collins knocked down a three to put the Big Red up 23-11. Cornell would maintain a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
