Best of the Week: Weeks 2 and 3

Game of the Week: Harvard over Rice, 85-64

In a game that was even more of a rout than the score indicated, the Crimson shot a blistering 61% from the field, including an incredible 75% in the second half, en route to a convincing 21-point win over C-USA foe Rice at Lavietes Pavilion. The Crimson also had a strong performance at the charity stripe, connecting on 86% of their free throws.

With his team firmly in control of the outcome, Coach Amaker had the opportunity to spread the wealth and the result was 10 Harvard players logging at least 10 minutes of playing time. The game was also a fine showing for the Crimsonâ€™s freshman class, with G Christian Webster, PG Brandyn Curry, G Dee Giger, F Kyle Casey, F Jeff Georgatos and PF Andrew Van Nest racking almost 100 minutes of playing time amongst the group. The future looks bright in Cambridge.

Player of the Week: G Noruwa Agho, Columbia

Columbiaâ€™s sharpshooter is making a mockery of the â€œsophomore slump,â€ becoming the go-to scorer for the Lions thus far this year. Shooting 53% from the field over his last 3 games, Agho dropped 23 in an impressive win versus Bucknell on 11/24, connecting on 7 of 8 shots from beyond the arc. He then followed up that sterling performance with a 22 point effort at Syracuse and a 16 point showing versus Sacred Heart before a far more pedestrian 5 point showing in a win over Lehigh.

Freshman of the Week: F Andrew McCarthy, Brown

The freshman big man from Ivy pipeline Northfield Mt. Hermon has been a rebounding machine for the Bears as of late, putting up 11 and 10 rebounds in consecutive games versus Siena and Holy Cross this week. His scoring ability is there too, as he racked up 18 points to go with his 11 rebounds at Siena, quite an impressive double-double against a very talented Saints squad.

Individual Performance of the Week: C Jeff Foote, Cornell, at Bucknell

Reigning Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year Jeff Foote put on a show in Sojka Pavilion, absolutely dominating the paint en route to a 28 point, 18 rebound performance in the Big Redâ€™s overtime thriller. Seemingly a man amongst midgets, Foote had his way inside from the start, racking up 14 points and 10 boards in the 1st half. Both the 28 points and 18 rebounds were career highs for the 7-footer.
