Tommy Amaker has his third commitment from a high schooler, as Max Kenyi of Gonzaga College High School in Maryland has announced his intention to attend Harvard next fall. According to reports, Kenyi chose the Crimson over a scholarship offer from Holy Cross and serious interest from Penn. The versatile wing was one of the more sought-after Ivy prospects in the 2008 recruiting class after averaging 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals per game as a junior last season.
Slant: This is a major coup for Amaker, as he appears to have beaten out a pair of Ivy/Patriot powers for Kenyi’s services. The 6-4 wing has drawn raves for his athleticism and defensive abilities, though like most Ivy recruits, he’ll need to add some bulk for optimum success at the Division I level. Kenyi’s commitment gives Amaker a point guard, a wing, and a forward so far in his first recruiting class — one that is looking increasingly impressive.
