Player of the Year: Ibby Jaaber, Penn

Rookie of the Year: Ryan Wittman, Cornell

* unanimous selection

Slant: The selection of Jaaber as Player of the Year over Zoller might surprise, but remember these are coaches voting. While Zoller undoubtedly was a major focus of their game preparation and scouting reports, you can bet Jaaber got more time and attention than anyone else on the Penn roster. Wittman over Dale for Rookie of the Year was expected after all the gushing the league’s coaches did about Wittman after playing Cornell. The coaches tend to focus almost exclusively on league games, which explains Brian Cusworth’s absence. It would have been nice to see some recognition of what Kyle Koncz did for Princeton this year while battling injury, but given the Tigers’ league mark, it’s understandable that no individual Princeton players were honored.
