Blake Wilson to transfer to Saint Joseph’s

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Blake Wilson will transfer to Saint Joseph’s after finishing the semester at Princeton. Wilson left the Princeton basketball team in November after failing to see action in three games as a freshman. He was a high school teammate of Duke freshman Brian Zoubek and helped Haddonfield win three straight state titles. The Inquirer article states that Wilson and his father will meet with Saint Joseph’s coach Phil Martelli next month about the possibility of playing basketball for the Hawks.

Slant: Wilson was regarded as a future contributor at Princeton, but things didn’t work out well for him. His father, Gary, told Sam Carchidi of the Inquirer back in December that “managing basketball and school was difficult” for his son at Princeton. Saint Joseph’s definitely can use another perimeter threat like Wilson, as the Hawks’ 35.7-percent outside shooting is below the program’s traditionally high three-point percentage. Rob Ferguson and Jawan Carter are the only two Saint Joseph’s players over 33.3 percent from outside the arc this season.
