The Harvard Crimson’s Michael James reports Harvard center Brian Cusworth will sit out the Crimson’s final three non-league games and won’t play until the Ivy League opener against Dartmouth on January 7. Cusworth fractured his hand diving for a loose ball against Central Connecticut back on December 3 and has missed the four games since.
Slant: A week ago this would have been disastrous news for Harvard, but now that it has strung together consecutive strong efforts without Cusworth, the outlook isn’t nearly as bleak. Jim Goffredo will be back, which will help lessen the scoring burden on Matt Stehle. Still, Harvard is 2-2 without Cusworth, 5-1 with him. Frank Sullivan definitely could have used his big man in tough upcoming road games at BC and SMU.
