Keys to the Game |
Key sequence |
After Ryan Wittman gave Cornell the lead with a layup at the 4:41 mark, Brian Kreefer took over. He came up with a steal on Northwestern’s next possession, then grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled. Kreefer hit one of two at the line, then drilled a crucial three-pointer with 2:11 left to give the Big Red a 60-55 lead.

Key sign it was over |
Leading 62-58 with ten seconds left, Cornell’s Graham Dow fouled Craig Moore while he was attempting a three-pointer, and the Northwestern guard hit all three free throws. The Wildcats fouled Wittman, but the freshman calmly drained both free throws to put the Big Red up three with seven seconds left. Moore got off a potential game-tying three-pointer, but it was off the mark and Cornell picked up a big win.

Key performance |
Adam Gore picked right up where he left off last season, scoring a game-high 20 points. Gore hit 5 of 10 three-point attempts and added four assists and a steal.
|
Key statistic |
Cornell’s 10 three-pointers. Nearly half of the Big Red’s points and field goals came behind the three-point arc, as the team shot 10 of 28 (35.7 percent) from the perimeter.
