With Craig Robinson departing for Oregon State, the Hampton Roads Daily Press reports Bill Weaver of nearby Bethel High School has backed out of his commitment to Brown and reopened his recruitment. The 6-4 forward was recruited by NJIT, Furman, and Cornell prior to his initial decision to attend Brown.

Slant: In an interview with his hometown paper, Weaver made it clear he was going to Brown because of Robinson. It’s possible Cornell might get involved again, but otherwise Weaver’s options may be limited at this late date. It’s uncertain how much of an impact this will have on Brown’s recruiting class, as Weaver appeared to be facing an uphill battle for minutes as an undersized forward.
