According to an article in the Tulsa World, Peter Swiatek of Cascia Hall High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has committed to Tommy Amaker’s Harvard program. The big man brings Amaker’s first recruiting class to eight members, including three frontcourt players standing at least 6-9. Swiatek missed a month of his senior campaign due to a high ankle sprain, but the newspaper article indicates he has returned to action.
Slant: Not much is known about Swiatek’s game, but he is described as an interior scorer. A perfect GPA and outstanding test scores should help keep Harvard’s class average up near previous years, even with the allegations of lowered admissions standards. With two other lauded frontcourt recruits in his class, getting significant collegiate minutes could prove to be a challenge for Swiatek.
