A February 7 article in the Los Angeles Wave claims Jean Harris, a 2007 graduate of Los Angeles High School, will play at Brown this fall. After missing the application deadline last year, Harris currently is enrolled at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, but according to the article he has not participated athletically and therefore should be eligible immediately at Brown. He averaged 23.9 points points per game as a senior in 2006-07 while playing int he small Southern League. Harris is Craig Robinson’s fourth public commitment for his 2008 recruiting class, with all four hailing from the West.

NJHoops.com reports Doug Davis has committed to Sydney Johnson’s Princeton program. A native of Philadelphia, the point guard currently is finishing up a postgrad year at The Hun School of Princeton. The 5-10 Davis picked the Tigers over interest from Columbia and Brown, making him the sixth high schooler to announce his commitment to attend Princeton in the fall.

Joe Jones has picked up a commitment from combo guard Steve Egee of Ridley High School in Pennsylvania, the Delaware County Times reports. He picked the Lions over interest from Siena, Hartford, and Albany. At 6-3, 185 pounds, Egee is the younger brother of Penn junior Kevin Egee, with a scouting report similar to his brother: a shooter with some point guard skills. He joins three other high schools and La Salle transfer Brian Grimes in announcing commitments to Columbia so far, though it’s expected the 2008 class will continue to grow.

The NCAA might prohibit media members in attendance from blogging during championship events, but there’s no such prohibition on those of us not in attendance. For those of you not in the Bay Area and the Syracuse/Binghamton markets, the game is on CSTV (Channel 610 on DirecTV).
